Tangemans Grow Agriculture
Larry and Ruth Tangeman are the third generation on their German Township, Auglaize County farm. They grow corn, wheat and soybeans and raise swine and sheep on their 85-acre farm. It’s a pretty safe bet they keep busy.
But for the Tangeman family, it’s more than just producing crops and livestock. It’s about growing and supporting agriculture and helping others in the industry and the community.
Their swine operation focuses on the production of purebred and crossbred show pigs for family members and local youth. Larry served on the board of directors and as president and secretary of the Ohio Hampshire Association; son John currently serves as vice president. The family is involved with the Auglaize County Pork Producers, as well as other organizations associated with the Auglaize County Fair.
Larry and Ruth’s three sons – Mark, John and Rob – surprised their parents with an Ohio Century Farm registration for Christmas. Seems like an appropriate gift for this farm family.
