Recognizing Geauga County’s Historic Farm Families

Recognizing Geauga County’s Historic Farm Families

Geauga County Recorder Sharon Gingerich knew her county had a strong agricultural history. She decided to honor that history and those families who have continued their farming heritage, by partnering with the Ohio Department of Agriculture’s Ohio Bicentennial & Century Farms program.

Two walls in her office reception area were painted with farm murals. One wall is a large tree with branches featuring pictures of Geauga County’s Century Farms.

Sharon hosted a reception for the Century Farm families in January to unveil the murals, and the families were recognized by a representative of Congressman David Joyce, and by Representative Sarah LaTourette.
