Each year officials from the Ohio Department of Agriculture’s Pesticide and Fertilizer Regulation section organize the Clean Sweep Pesticide Disposal program. The program assists farmers with a free of charge, safe and environmentally responsible disposal of unusable, outdated pesticides. This year the program conducted three regional collections in Fayette, Wayne and Wood counties. The following are some photos from the Wayne County collection on August 29. In total 32,698 pounds of pesticides were collected and safely disposed in Wayne County. Photos are courtesy of Ohio State University Extension Agent Rory Lewandowski.
